  • MB Bch BAO, BMed Sc, MICGP, DCH

    Aideen qualified from UCC in 2001. She completed her intern in The Mercy Hospital Cork and then went on to do the GP training scheme involving rotations in General Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and A&E.  She worked in a busy general practice in Ballincollig and also as Student Health officer in UCC and Cork Institute of Technology. She worked as a GP in Dingle for 6 months before moving to Kenmare with her young family in 2006 to join the O' Driscoll practice where she has been since. She lives locally and is an active member of the Kenmare community with many interests including swimming, cycling and parenting! When Dr Rory and Bernie O'Driscoll retired in 2020 she took over the practice and formed  Kendoc with Dr Maria Calnan. Her special interests are paediatrics, woman's health, maintaining mental health and dermatology. 

  • MB BCH BAO BMed Sc, MICGP

    Dr. Maria Calnan graduated from UCC in 2004 with an MB BCH BAO Bmed Sci degree. She was awarded the John Kelly prize in Clinical Surgery. Following graduation, she gained valuable experience during her intern year at Cork University Hospital. She then completed the Cork GP training Scheme in 2010 having trained in Millstreet and Bishopstown. She has worked as a GP since in Kenmare, Killarney and most recently Bantry for 8 years. Maria joined Dr. Aideen Russell in practice in 2020. She has undertaken a number of post graduate studies including further studies in Diabetes and Cardiovascular care at UCC, along with a Diploma in Geriatrics and Certificate in Contraception. Maria is a registered smear taker and is competent in Implanon and coil insertion. She is particularly interested in antenatal care and paediatrics and management of chronic disease. Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, travelling and supporting Munster and Irish Rugby.

    Katy Lynch is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) who joined Kendoc practice in 2022. She graduated from UCC in 2003 as an RGN after which she spent 19 years in the Emergency Department where she gained valuable experience in emergency and ambulatory care. In 2018 Katy went on to qualify as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) with an Honours master’s degree in advanced practice in UCC. She is a fully qualified prescriber and has undertaken further post graduate courses since including Cardiovascular Care in UCC and a Diploma in Joint injection Therapy in Musculoskeletal Conditions in Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. She is particularly interested in optimising management of chronic diseases including obesity management, cardiovascular disease, and asthma /COPD. She is also interested in teaching and delivers lectures yearly in UCC to post graduate emergency department nurses. Outside of work, Katy is interested in keeping active and spending time with her family.

  • Yvonne has worked with us since 2002. She provides many services including phlebotomy, immunisations, smear tests, ecg, spirometry and ear syringing. She regularly updates herself on basic life support and new regulations/guidelines. She is adored by the patients and is a treasured member of our team!
